It takes a long time to build the skills needed to successfully press flowers.

As a sustainable florist turned flower presser, I have done a deep dive into the art of pressing and I'm excited to offer an online workshop where I plan to save you the agony of figuring things out yourself.

So, let's minimize the mold, optimize the colours and save time by connecting together and learning more about the delicate art of flower pressing.

This online zoom conversation will be an introduction in how to build presses and how to press flowers. I will share my experience and we can learn from each other as well. All levels of pressing are welcome!

Part 1:

Learn how to build a press that suits your own needs! I will cover the process I used to build small presses for home use and commercial scale deep presses for my larger scale creations. Topics such as tools, roadblocks and design iteration will be covered.

Part 2:

I will go over everything I've learned about pressing individual flower types. With an emphasis on locally available flowers, we will learn what to deconstruct or keep whole, how to avoid mold, what layers I use for what flowers, how to guess how well a flower will press from its fresh nature and more!

Part 3:

Print making! Here I will share all that I've learned about making prints from the type of glue that works best to the digitization and printing process that I've followed.

What to bring:

Please have some flowers with you and a press. While it is not necessary - I would like to answer any questions about your own flowers and press set up while we are live.

Cost: $45 CAD
